Sally, a long time resident of Santa Cruz County entered the Real Estate market back in 1974 and doesn’t regret it one bit.  Even after selling over 700 homes in her career she still enjoys it and can’t think of doing anything else.  The reward of helping someone find their first home, their dream home as well as selling a home for a new beginning is so satisfying. Her constant contact with the wonderfully diverse people of California and other areas are definitely a daily thrill.

Accomplishments

Over the years, Sally has become one of the most successful real estate agents in Santa Cruz County.

  • Honored early in her career by the Santa Cruz Association of Realtors as a “Top Producer”
  • In 2011, Sally sold more residential properties than any other REALTOR® in the county

In order to offer a higher level of service to more clients, Sally formed a team, allowing each member to capitalize on their natural strengths. The Sally Bookman Team specializes in residential sales, vacation properties, multifamily investment real estate, and tax-deferred exchange.

Like all licensed members of our team,  Sally is a member of the National Association of Realtors as well as:

  • California Association of Realtors
  • Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors
  • Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI)
  • Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES)
  • Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE)

Sally was born in London, England, and has a Doctoral Degree from the University of California at Berkeley in Social Anthropology (PhD). She lives in Aptos with her husband, Lee, youngest son, Drew, and dog, Chelsea.

Being known as a very active busy person, but like most other Realtors, she has many interests outside her chosen profession. She has done volunteer work with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and has served on the Capitola Arts Commission. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of Shakespeare Santa Cruz and served several years with the Dominican Hospital Guild.

Her strongest community involvement currently is the role of local chapter leader for the national organization, Dining for Women, which assists disadvantaged women in third world countries.

Sally is also an accomplished watercolor artist, and had her own art gallery in Capitola Village for over 15 years.  Several years ago, she published a book of watercolor paintings, entitled, “Sand Between Your Toes”, depicting various physical and cultural landmarks around Santa Cruz County.  Sally still shows her artwork at the Capitola Art and Wine Festival every September and in her home during October Open Studios.
